iPod and album grouping

I think I'm confused.

I'm very pleased with the 3.1 upgrade but since I've noticed something strange when I'm in the iPod of my iPhone. When browsing by albums there used to be a single choice for each album where now there is a choice for each artist on an album. Below is a screen shot example. I don't mind this when searching by artist but when I search by album I only want to see one entry per album, not several.

Below is a quick example. Look at the Work, Vol. 1 Album it used to be one entry. There are other albums where there are 10 or more entries. While it is workable its less than ideal.

Any thoughts?

Just a thought, but have you marked the album as part of a compilation in iTunes? That ususally does the trick for me, but I haven't upgraded to 3.1 yet.

That is the point. Albums often contain songs by different artists. I would prefer not to change the artist from the correct one.
