iPod iPod and error 1429

Hi,
I have a problem with my cousin's iPod. When I connect to the computer, itunes says the iPod is in recovery mode. So I click on "restore", but then it starts to do some strange noises from the inside and some minutes after a notification from error 1429 appears.

Then, according to Apple site, I disconnect and reconnect the ipod but the strange sound continues and an image of a dead ipod appears.
What should I do??:confused:
