hi guys wondering if i could use my 160gb ipod as a time machine backup

Yes I beleive you can. If you need a little info I think I read how to do it on the apple website somewhere.

other than that, I am not sure this is a good idea. the iPod's harddrive is not exactly failsafe, you know?
I say, man up and get a proper 160gb USB external.

no you can't I've tried

even after erasing it and partitioning it time machine won't recognize
my 5G iPod. Any ideas?

iPod will not work as Time Machine.

i've have tried to use my iPod as time machine and it does not work. I contacted the Apple Genius, and he told me that iPods will not work as Time Machine
