My mini couldn't cut it on a trip i recently took. It didn't last two flights that were about 2 and a half hours each. I have a first generation green mini. I know they just dropped the price in half on the battery replacement. My question is... do you get the battery that is in the second generation mini meaning 18 hrs of battery life... or do you get the same that is in the first generation mini... featuring short life span and 8 hrs?

I cannot answer your question, but according to the Apple iPod Battery Replacement website, they don't actually replace the battery in your iPod, they send you another iPod with a new battery in it, keep your old one, and presumably refurb it for later sale or as a replacement for someone else.

I would like to know if they are using the newer higher mAH batteries for all mini refurbing as well, so I'm hoping a little bimp will get some more interest in this topic... :)
