So following the entire crash of my external HDD this morning, now my iPod cannot be written to read from. I restored it b/c I had some stuff to do and had time while it rebooted and everything. I come back and have a bouncing icon saying that the disk cannot be written to.

Is it seriously possibly that I've gotten two bad HDDs in one day?

I don't even know what else to say. Thanks for any info.

As soon as this message pops up, the iPod disappears from the Disk Utility menu. I'm going to the "Genius Bar" today to see what's up.

EDIT: Things are fine now. A few restarts got the kinks out of the system, and now I can find everything. I still can't explain the iPod situation, but it's updating fine now. Go figure. At least it wasn't as bad as the BSOD that sent me packing to the world of Mac.
