Someone just asked me if I had got myself a new "iPod chromatic" today. I'm actually wondering if Apple (or whoever was responsible for the marketing) thought through the choice of words and the way they are presented to viewers.

I did a little internet searching and there are plenty of people who are referring to the fourth generation iPod nano as "iPod chromatic".

Did Apple shoot themselves in the foot on this one?

its from the commercials and apples website.

Yeah, I've heard loads of people in Apple Stores asking for the new nano-chromatic. I think this definitely was Apple's fault as that's what it says on all of the ads, however sometimes the general public just gets it wrong on their own, for example iTouch and Mac Air.

lol you just can't please everyone... and there are too many "uneducated" consumers out there.

My big pet peeve? When people call the iPod Touch the iTouch. Ugh.

:D
