Hi,

i just received one of the last Classic 160GB of an apple dealer.

CoconutIdentity found out that the ipod was produced in October 2007.

(Firmware is 1.0.2)

Is it likely that the battery has suffered from being unused for almost a year?

Do you think i should return the device?

Thanks

That's kinda funny, yes I agree when you say it's new but old.
Well give it a full charge and then see how long the battery last.

I'd use the battery till it drained to nearly zero, and then give it a full charge for a good 10hours, to condition it :)

Be fine, and soon the 160GB I think will be a rare one.

thanks for your replies.

after reading a bit more about batteries i returned the ipod.

I am pretty sure that would be fine. That is not a very long period for a battery from the factory.
