Hi,
I just got my first new iPod in five years yesterday a 120GB iPod Classic as a graduation present. It is very cool, and I am especially pleased that my 15/20GB 3rd Generation dock works with the Classic (they're way cheaper than the Universal dock). But I have two questions:

Can I sync the Classic over Firewire?
Can I sync my Third Generation iPod over USB?

I would prefer to have one dock, but if they both use different connections then I can't do that.
Thanks,
-Rick

And just a heads-up Case-Mate has all their iPod Classic cases on-sale right know for $10 down from $30, I just bought a Signature leather case.

I just got some time to check on this. The Classic will sync over USB only, but can charge off of FW or USB. The 3rd Generation iPod can sync over USB or FW but can only charge over FW.
I'd be interested to know why Apple changed around so much between FW and USB. So anyway I guess I'll sync over USB and use my 3G FW wall charger to recharge them.
Thanks!
