Problem 1:
I have an iPod classic 40 gb 3rd gen. This is the one with the scroll wheel and the 4 buttons at the top. For a while, it was working decently. It didn't have very good battery power, but that's to be expected from such an old ipod. One day, something happened and I decided to do a factory reset from itunes, and it froze on the apple screen. It stayed like this for a while and finally it just stopped working entirely. We bought a new battery especially for it and a firewire/usb cable. It still didnt turn on. Then, I put it away for a few months and randomly decided to come back to it. I connected it with the firewire/usb cable and its back to he apple logo screen again. I can hear the hard drive running, still, but itunes wont read it and it wont come off of this screen. What gives? Do I need an older version of itunes for it?

Problem 2: I have an ipod touch 64 gb 3rd gen. This ipod has been through a lot.. It's unlucky, so to speak.. I jail broke it, it crashed (For no reason. This never happened to my friends' ipods.. Even though I was the one who did NOT have installus.); restored it by bringing it to the geek squad at best buy; it crashed, i restored it at home; it crashed again, i restored it again; it fell and the screen cracked, then days later, it crashed, and I fixed it; then my water bottle bursted in my backpack and soaked the ipod, then everything worked, but it wouldn't respond to my touch; I took it home, restored it on itunes; it crashed the next day, I restored it; it worked for about a week and I woke up one morning and it wouldn't respond to my touch again. Everything else works perfectly, iTunes reads it, I can control it from the headphones that came with it, and everything syncs on it.. But not being able to control it or do anything destroys the purpose of my 400 dollar toy... Is there anything I can do here at home? Can I take it to the geek squad, or apple store, or its it beyond repair?
