For about 8 years I've been using a 20GB iPod 4G Click Wheel with a 32GB CF Card that has worked flawlessly. I usually shuffle all and forward through songs when I'm not listening to specific albums. Around 2016 I've wanted to redo my collection and effectively rebuild my library from scratch. I tend to convert everything to 128Kbps AAC. When I last tried it in 2016 after upgrading the card to a 64GB I keep getting an issue to where the iPod will randomly crash with a blank screen. Sometimes it's while playing. Sometimes it's while paused but most of the time it's when it is sleeping and won't wake up. I backed up the card before redoing it and I can't replicate the issue with the old library when I copy it back to either card.

I've made major changes since then though while the number of files and the size of the library is similar the songs are different. I've tried different versions of iTunes (this time 9.2.1) and tried not loading all the files at once. My last option is to just go through the list sequentially until the iPod crashes but wondering if this is something experienced before and how to find those problematic tracks?
