Hello,

I have a Onkyo ND-S1 for extracting the Digital out from my ipod.
This is then connected to a Cambrige Audio DacMagic and from there to my Amp.

All was great, but suddenly my iPod stopped sending any signal to the DAC.
So I tried a few alternative iPods I have. These worked fine, so it was the iPod Classic at fault.

So I reset by pressing centre of the click wheel and 'menu' at the same time for about 10 seconds. the devise re-booted (grey screen with Apple sign).
When the unit came back on to normal, I tried it again and the digital out was resumed.
So, what's going on here? Is this indicative of a problem that might happen again?

By the way, using the digital out from the iPod is vastly superior to using the analogue output which is what other docks do.

The sound is superb!

I had exactly the same problem today. Your solution worked for me: thanks!

I'd just re-loaded all my music and had a software update - I can only assume that the problem was activated by this somehow.

And yes, the sound quality is excellent - pretty close to my Naim CD5i into Linn.
