iPod iPod Classic 80GB sound issue please help ASAP

Alright I have an iPod classic 80GB, US model. And I notice in the settings it has a volume control option. So I Put the volume where I want it and I press the play button so it saves it there and it exits. Then it created a password for it as well 0-0-0-0 But I notice it keeps resetting itself in that volume control option and it keeps resetting itself really really low. How do I make it stay there and stop resetting itself?

Hah I just picked up an 80gb today and ran into the same thing. That is just MAX volume. When something is playing move your thumb around the circle like a wheel for volume control!
