i think apple should sell limited editon classics in the same colors as the 3rd gen nanos. dont you think that would possibly boost classic sales? plus it would be cool to get the classic in your favorite color. :D i honestly would love it. i have a green 3rd gen nano, and i love the color. just imagine what it would look like bigger and better.

I don't think anything will boost Classic sales at this point.

The iPod classic is a dying breed. The vast majority of people want integrated devices so they don't have to carry/charge multiple devices.

I would imagine those people are in the minority. I doubt that the iPod classic will be around much longer.

if it goes, ill be sad. the classic is amazing. its what birthed all the iPod's we know and love today. i have a 3rd gen classic so i feel good owning a little peice of ipod history. my only issue is i need a firewire charger and it needs a headphone jack. i dont even know if it works or not, but i have a good feeling about it. :D

I have 3 120gb classics, 2 are in cars, 1 is a NIB backup.

Both of the ones in cars are in Belkin leather cases.

2 are black 1 is white/silver, or it may be the reverse.

Point is the color sure doesn't matter to me .:D

but some people want music only devices

Indeed. I am in complete agreement with you.

That is exactly why I have three iPod classics (two in use, one as a possible back up)……..and do not have (and nor do I want or need) a smart phone……

However, re the question of colour, while it might be nice, it is not something that would exercise me all that much, to be honest.
