This morning I plugged my iPod Classic into my laptop to load up podcasts for my commute. I got error messages about connecting, so I unplugged and did a hard re-set. Then when I plugged it in...all my media was "gone". Gone from the hard disc or just not readable, who knows. I did a restore & will check on it when I get home.

Has anyone else experienced this before?
 
Update

This iPod Classic had been set up on and the restore done on my old G4 Powerbook. After the restore...nothing. So I took it to work and attempted a restore & sync on my work computer. Well, this seems to have brought it back to life. Color me confused. For some reason restoring on the PC was the "fix". I'll see how long this works...
 
Yes...use disk utility to erase free space. (at your own risk, but it worked for me!)
