iPod iPod Classic / Griffin TuneFlex?

Has anyone tried using the Griffin TuneFlex car charge/mount with the iPod Classic? It says it is a supported model, but when i plug in the iPod, it flashes back and forth from "charged" to "charging" and never actually charges a all. Any help out there?
