iPod iPod Classic Manual Syncing

Hey guys,

I am getting an iPod Classic for christmas and i wanted to sync some movies and tv shows over to it. Although this is probably a noob question (i only have an iPod Nano 1G now), i was wondering if i could have the tv shows sync but manually manage the movies so i would be able to delete them off my computer but still have them on my iPod. Can you do this?
