Hey guys

So I bought a macbook pro the other day and got a black 120gb ipod classic for £30 after rebate. At first I thought I would use it but now I'm not so sure so I'm planning to sell it on eBay.

I have a few questions as I have never sold on eBay let alone sold an iPod. Firstly, will the fact that I peeled off the barcode label on the back (required to submit the rebate) affect the value of the iPod. The iPod is still in its plastic wrap, but I removed the shrink wrap of the box to get to the label.

Secondly, with the condition of the iPod in mind, what kind of price would I be looking at getting. I was planning to just sell it as a buy it now, is this a good idea or would an auction be better?

Please note, this isn't an advertisement for my iPod, I'm not trying to sell it on MR.

Thanks guys, any advice is appreciated.

I would check eBay for the going rate of the iPod Classic.

The Classic is a great iPod. I have an iPhone and a Nano but LOVE my iPod Video (now called classic) 60 GB.

I wouldn't think you removing the label would effect the price in any way.

They go anywhere from $150 to $220 the higher rates go for sealed ones like yours. With the barcode removed and the plastic also removed that may affect the value since people may believe you got it as a warrenty replacement and and just selling it as new and not refurbished.
