iPod FM transmitter

I got the Griffin Itrip Auto for $34.99 with free shipping from Buy.com (its $37.99 now 
) for my g/f (Its different from the regular griffin Itrip
the sound quality is pretty great if your in one city.
We do have to change stations as we drive long distances and other FM stations start to interfere, i guess its not strong enough to overpower the other stations.
Its nice but i might get one that holds the nano up near the steering wheel or radio so you dont have to dig around for it in cup holder or something while your driving.
Maybe something like THIS ONE for the Mini

I tried the Griffin iTrip about a month ago and promptly returned it. All I got was static and when it did work, the sound quality was worse than an audio tape.
Moving my iPod around in the air sometimes helped, but who's going to do that while I'm driving.

i recently bought a griffin iTrip off ebay. it was pretty good, reception wasn't great but i was pleased. however, i physically broke the thing only weeks after i bought it so purchased this thing on a whim Digipower iPod Navigator.
it plugs right into the 12 volt outlet in the car and transmits the signal by fm like the iTrip. i find that this thing is amazing! it gives way better reception than the itrip, i never get any static from it. and since it's plugged into the cars power source it charges the ipod at the same time, letting me keep the backlight on all the time. and if you had a video ipod you could play videos without worrying about running out of battery power.
my only fear with this thing is that it's gonna kill my ipod battery fast. my friend who has a 5g 30gb is telling me that he thinks his battery is dying. mine seems perfectly fine though (4g colour 20gb). also it only transmits 4 different signals: 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, and 88.7

Music isn't the only thing broadcast on the radio, there's obviously a demand for mp3 players with FM radios.
@Adiddas125: In a lot of countries, especially in Europe, it is illegal to have any kind of transmitter without a license. So they would have to make different kinds of iPods for different parts of the world then. Too expensive.

This is slowly being changed by amendments to the laws to allow low powered transmitters, the UK is meant to have the amendments sorted by the end of the year and the rest of europe is expected to follow after once they have sorted their amendments.

Thanks for the advice to all. I'm guessing by the responses that it's a little hit and miss for many. Guess I'll just make sure to buy from a reputable retailer, and hang on to my receipt.
Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to listen to FM radio on my iPod - I'll never need/want to do that.
I was looking for a solution that lets me play my iPod over my car stereo, and the only way I can do that currently is via an FM transmitter addon.
