So I am an avid runner and I have been a long time purchaser of Apple products. I always preferred the shuffles but over the years as my music library has grown I eventually worked up to 3 shuffles during my runs. I made the decision to go ahead and get the nano so I could only have one device.
I synced my music from itunes with no issues, and began playing music immediately with no issues. It was a really hot day so I decided to run on the treadmill in the gym and while I did my warm up at 4.0 the music played with no issue. I began to run at 6.5 and immediately the songs began to shuffle about every 3 or 4 strides. My first reaction was shake to shuffle must be on so I went to the settings and it was off, I turned it on and then off to see if that would work and it still didn't. Then the voice over began to come on and say the title of the song and artist and then skip to the next song and repeat the song name and artist to the point where I couldn't hear any music.
Being tech savy enough to be dangerous but no means an export I tried the following courses of action:
1. Ensure the shake to shuffle feature was off
2. Ensure the Voice Over command was off
3. Restarted the iPod
4. Restored Factory Settings
5. Took it to the Apple store where they experienced the same issue and said it must be a hardware issue and replaced it with another model.
I took the new model and did everything the same and even took it with me to work to make sure I could play music for an extended amount of time. After work I went for a run in which the same exact thing occurred. I took it back to the apple store in which they had the same issue and offered to give me another model or that I could sell it online and buy another product.
I just want to be able to run and listen to my music, does anybody have any suggestions on how to get this to work or a recommendation for another iPod model (or any mp3 player at this point) that will not have this same issue.
