I just bought a refurb iPod 80. Is there way to tell what generation it is? Apple said it was previous generation. What does that mean? The reason I ask so I know what cases I should be looking at.

Also as a side note; Can this iPod take the abuse of being online 24/7? I have a iPod 20 (4th generation) and for 4 years I basically had it on 24/7 and it's now starting to fail (When its to play the entire music it will start to play a song then skip to the next song (strange))

So I can install games and movies on it? Forgive me, I haven't had much time to play around it. I am waiting for my power adaptor comes ( I wish I could use my firewire power for my iPod 20. Does it matter that it's black? LOL

It's a generation 5.5.

G5 only had 60GB.
G6 is the new classic.

Thanks for letting me know what to look for when it time for to get the case. :D

for the sake of a case, look for one that says "Video 60GB/80GB"
