A couple weeks ago I had an issue where my ipod classic (160 gb) would go into deep sleep after being idle for 30 minutes or more. I thought it was a battery issue and got the battery replaced but I'm still having this error.
I restored the ipod but it still goes into deep sleep after 30 minutes very time. If I have my ipod in the car and go do groceries (not a temperature issue as I was parked in an underground parking lot) and come back the ipod requires a hard reset just to turn back on. In the good ol' days you would simply hit play and it would pick up where you left off.
I did a diagnostics test and can't see any hard drive issues at all and the battery was replaced which seems to be working fine as even after a hard reset from deep sleep the battery levels seem pretty normal.
Any advice? Do I need find a way to go back to an older firmware? Although I've had the current firmware (2.04 I believe) for several years without a hitch until recently.
