iPod IPod Help Needed

After I spent a few hours cleaning up artist names, song names, CD title names that were displayed in my library of music in my ITunes software I tried to update the information on my IPod and nothing changed. I even deleated everything off my IPod and reloaded all my music but still got the old information. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah, were you making the changes through iTunes or through Finder/Windows Explorer?
