bought this as part of a lot. I thought it was 4th gen nano but the case says A1137 EMC 2066 which would make it a 1st gen. It does not look like any 1st gen i have seen

It's a fake. You got screwed big time if you got it in a bundle.

They are the only models that included 2GB.

iPods don't have volume buttons either. And that is not a dock connector port. The lettering on the back is all different too, and the serial isn't found.
 
thanks. that was what i was thinking. i bought a lot that had several authentic 1st gens that qualify for apple replacement program and found this and was a bit baffled
