iPod: In-Ear or Stock?

Buying a used iPod--what's better? Standard Earbuds + Remote or In-Ear Earbuds?

I would pick in ear becasue they have great sound quality and they block out outside noises. I also think the ipod remote is pretty useless and I rather use the ipod its self becasue of the screen.

Hmm. Okay, just wondering. I bought a used 30GB 3G iPod for $100 this morning, and as you can expect it came with nothing. I was deciding on the in-ears or not--the remote would be nice so when it's in the case I could change the music. Hell, maybe someways down the road I'll just get both.

The in-ears are damn good...I've been using mine for a while now...no problems, just great sound.

are the in-ear phones easy blown like the normal ones?

i work a second shift Design job, and usually listen to my iPod Photo the whole time. Last week while i was listening to a song the right ear-bud blew, now it mostly rattles.

I use the in-ear when I am at school and they are great but when I am away or traveling, I use my Bose headphones.

After my stock 'phones died, I tried a pair of Sony buds in white. Then they died and I went to the Apple in-ear model. I've been using then for about a 6-months with no complaints. Bass isn't as strong as the Sony's, but pretty close. Much better than the stock ones.

For sound quality, especially with respect to bass, in-ears are the way to go.

The only problem is in their design - they really are in-ear. Therefore outside noises (traffic, people) are strongly muted and also they greatly increase the amount of bacteria in your ears (not a problem unless you suffer with ear infections).

I'm on my second pair of in-ears, likely my last pair. Build quality sucks, to be honest. With the first pair, I had the typical no sound from one of the buds. Apple wouldn't do anything for me because I didn't have the receipt. The 2nd pair, the speaker on one of the buds came off from the white plastic bit. I had to superglue it back on.

They're great when they work properly, but I'm definitely getting some Sonys next time.

I have gone through at LEAST 4 pairs of iPod head phones. The first pair blew extremely quickly within a week or so. Apple sent me another pair, these lasted 2 to 3 months and one ear eventually blew out. My gf gave me her pair of ipod headphones cause she bought other ones to run with, these have blown out on me, and the pair that came with my shuffle i am just beginning to notice that low bass is slowly making worse and worse sounds in the right ear on the same song(thanks to my shuffle being bad at "Shuffling" i here the same songs frequently enough to compare) I just bought the 5th gen and i will be using these headphones, up until i get the funds to buy a better pair. I don't really have a problem with their sound quality i know they are not stellar, they miss alot of hits and background sounds in some ambient electronic music i listen to, but their build quality blows.

I got some 50 dollar panasonic earbuds about two weeks ago. Llistening to mp3s I notice very little difference from other earbuds I have used except that they cancel outside noise very well. But when I plug those things into my synth I was so blown away Im really having a problems using my amps now because these little earbuds sound so great...whats the point of that story uhh idk get iner ear buds

Also, unless you want to carry around a skipping rope in your pocket, I would pass on the remote control.

The in-ears are great, if they fit you. Mine are finicky, sometimes they do, other they don't, but when they do, there're awesome, and no they don't blow easy, mine are usually up 80% of the way all the time.
