I know this is a long shot, but the guys at the VW forums have been absolutely zero help. I just bought a 2011 VW Golf base model. I want to hook up my iPod so that I can charge/control it through the factory stereo. I just have an aux-in jack, but I want to be able to control it through the head unit. VW sells an MDI box and cable for ~$500 installed, slightly cheaper if I do it myself. I was wondering if anyone knew of any places that sell iPod integration devices for newer VWs? I checked out P.I.E.'s site, but they don't have anything for the newer Golf. Are there any others? Thanks!

Normally I would send you here:

However, they don't have any cables for the mk6 chassis Golf.

I have a 2001 Golf TDI with the Blitzsafe adapter installed for my iphone/ipods, and it works perfectly. I can charge and listen to the device through the stereo. Control is through the iPod/iPhone instead of the head unit with this adapter.

You can purchase the VW adapter for far less than the $500 if you want to install it yourself.

ECS carries some adapters:

Thanks for the links!
For what they would cost though I would be better off just buying a new head unit. I was hoping to find a 3rd party adapter for $100-$150. Bummer.

i have had the dice in my wife's x5 and I have the mdi adapter for the ipod in my mk5 gti. If you are keeping the car, spend the cash and do the VW mid. And if you have the nav it makes it even better.
