iPod ipod just shows apple logo, and disc spins

Not sure what occurred, but my itunes on my new mac (came from wondows again)

said it could not restore my ipod, and now it just shows the apple logo, and spins the harddrive,

i cannot get it into disk mode either,

what to do?
