Hey everyone,

Just wondering if someone with a 4.0 SDK would have some time, could they please find out if there is an API that allows ipod library access; to be used by dj apps, bpm detector apps, etc...

Thanks

yes, they added that with 3.0. it remains in 4.0.

Here is a quote from createdigitalmusic.com:

The “library access” in the 3.0 SDK is only a player control API similar to that of the iPod; there is not even read only file access for MP3s nor any way to modify the output from the library. So no iPhone DJing, no BPM detection, no interactive PD or Reaktor patches with your library.

@CocoaPuffs - good idea, didn't realise there was that section

I hope so, I'd love to see Audiosurf on the iPhone. The dev has stated he's interested in doing it, but can't with the current API limitations.
