Does anyone of a cheap dock connector to RCA cable for outputting the line out of an iPod? The only ones I seem to be able to find are "high end" cable priced over $50. There has to be a cheap version, right?

Thank You,
Richard Kenny

The problem with both of these solutions is that I am looking to use the Line Out that is in the dock connector. I am interested in the line out because I am going into pro audio equipment, so one less thing that can degrade the quality is a plus for me. I guess I wasn't clear on that part of my original post.

Looking for:
iPod Dock Connector --> Stereo RCA Cable

Thanks

If you're going into pro-gear, then spending $50 seems a sensible amount to pay on a stereo cable.

From my experiences, you should probably just use a dock with the line out. It is basically the same as using a y connector, in fact you probably still have to use one, but it is not as ugly as using just a stereo to rca. They are both going to be a little noisy, but it seems as if the dock does filter out a little noisy depending on your setup. But you are probably just going to have to do the high end thing if that seems to be the only one that fits your needs. Sometimes you just end up wasting time and money and still have to go the high end.

Was this the one you were talking about?

Actually, what I'm looking for is a cable that has one end being the iPod data connector and the other end being the 3.5 mm stereo phone jack. Operating with full line-out volume, that would make it really easy to connect an iPod to many newer car stereos and automobiles that have the 3.5 mm auxiliary input jack.

Try the Sik Imp or Din, or one of the other products like those that Sik sells.

I've been looking for one of these too for my iPod. I can understand the desire to have something really high end for a high end stereo, and there are some good ones out there. However, I was wanting a less expensive one for the shop stereo.

I stumbled into CableJive's $20 +USB Line Out Cable, which gives you line out audio and also has a standard USB connector that lets you charge the iPod at the same time. I got one last week and it works great in the shop.
