hi i have an old ipod mini. I want to copy the music from it onto my imac. i no longer have the computer mac i originally synced the music with. now even though the mini works perfectly with headphones or docking stations once i connect it to my imac i get an error message that it is not repairable or readable and i must restore it. my question is... how do i get my music off this mini i tried music rescue it locks into a "loading" mode forever and just hangs there after giving a message that the length requested is greater than the remaining data - is there a software i can use:eek::(

THANKS SO MUCH.... i will try it and let ya know :rolleyes:

aarrghh it didnt work for me. i downloaded two different versions 1.3 gave error message that i need os 10.3 or later then goes on to say that i have 10.5.6 which makes no sense :(
then the other version 2.... stated i needed mfuse core 0.2.4 first which i downloaded then upon trying to open iPodDisk i get yet another error message ipoddisk failed to start. please re;prt this with the outputs of running / applications/ipoddisl.app/contents/macOS/ipoddisk from the Terminal
:mad: yeeesh

Okay- did you reboot your mac after you have installed mfuse core 0.2.4- that could be the thing that is stopping the software from working...

or

take a look at this website

Hope you have better luck this time

Thanks for helping I will keep trying. The first error I get is when I connect the ipod "the disk was not repairable by this computer you must backup your data and reformat asap. Then ipoddisk fails to launch - my ipod shows up on my desktop if I right click and open I see several folders with song however the other 600 songs are not visable as being on the drive.:confused:
then ipoddisk does not launch with the previously mentioned error message

So I tried expod it loads nicely then message no ipod found however i am looking at my ipod on the desktop :mad:

Terminal error message from ipoddisk... i think my ipod is not being recognized as an ipod at all i tried to load it onto my pc to see if i could download software for pc but my ipod is mac formatted so i got error message on their to that fact :eek:
here is terminal error message
Contents/MacOS/iPodDisk ; exit;
10.5.6
mkdir: /Volumes/iPodDisk/: File exists
itdb_parse_file() failed: Not a iTunesDB: '/Volumes/name of my ipod here/iPod_Control/iTunes/iTunesDB' (missing mhdb header).!
ipoddisk_init_ipods() has failed.

well i am out of ideas :confused: Hopefully someone else will be able to help you

I know crazy right? but thanks!! I think it has something to do with not putting the ipod away properly before disconnecting :( I found out my nephew disconnected it - just pulled it out (because before all this started - I was able to see and play the ipod through itunes on my machine. I was in the process if finding a software to remove the songs just before all this trouble.... I am going to take it to an apple store and see what they say as they were the ones that recommended MusicRescue:rolleyes:
