The iPod mini came with about 50 songs. In our family's rush to get started, we added songs from our newly added iTunes library, but lost the orginal songs the ipod came with. Is there any way to get those songs back, reset to orginal settings or are they just lost. Please let me know. I am able to add songs from our library, but can't find those songs. Please advise.

thank you

You mean that 50 songs were already loaded on the iPod when you bought it? It wouldn't have come from Apple that way

If you didn't have CDs with the songs or already have them stored on your computer, you can consider them gone.

Yes, the orginal songs that were loaded on the iPod, before going into the library. After going into the library, the songs were gone.

You're probably out of luck, then. iPods don't come with songs preloaded from the factory, and that's why. When Apple want to include free songs, they include a coupon to download the tracks through iTunes.

The only other thing you might try is to go into iTunes and enable hard disk use on the iPod. If you're lucky, the seller may have left extra copies of the songs in there that you might drag into iTunes. If you don't find anything in there, that's the end of the story.

So now you've got what every other person who buys a new iPod has - an iPod that came with no songs so you fill it with your own.

Didn't one of the specialized iPods (like the Harry Potter one) come with preloaded songs?

Did you buy the iPod used? What this sounds like to me is that you bought someone's iPod with songs, plugged it in, "registered" it to your computer and in the mean while, the iPod deleted it's songs because you aren't the owner of them (because you changed the computer the iPod was registered to).

There is no white iPod mini... there is a silver, however. And no iPod ever comes with music pre-loaded on the hard drive. Did you buy this used by chance?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious. :p

if you bought it from Walmart and it had songs on it, you probably got someone elses returned iPod which was just reshrink wrapped and put back on the shelf.

Take it back and get a new one that was not used. iPods dont come from the factory with songs on them.

Here are the colors of the mini line (the 5 pictured together), are you sure you dont have the 1GB shuffle (the white one by itself and with no screen)?

ipod mini songs

come to think of it, the iPod had a name of james ipod on it-when I first loaded it into the iTunes program. I didn't think anything of it, because, like I said, I bought new from Walmart. I thought that some insane factory setting. But that is good to know. As I read everyone's post, it was probably returned that way. I will probably return it and get a new one.

Did you see the post in the marketplace section? There's a guy selling a slice of ham in an iPod box. Called the iHam, I think. :p :D
