iPod Ipod Nano 1st Gen.

Hello,
I knew this would happen, but here I go. Back in 2011, I sent back my 1st gen. iPod Nano to Apple to get it replaced. They sent me a 6th generation. Don't get me wrong here, I was–and still am–glad to have gotten this product: I still wear it everyday as a watch (anticipating Apple's single move haha!).

I now miss the 1st generation, the most aesthetically pleasing iPod ever made if you ask me. Hence, my question: I have been looking around on amazon and ebay, but not much is listed there. Do you guys have any tips for me? Where can I find one in good condition?

If someone has one he/she is ready to sell, I am all in (no matter the gB, as long as it is white).

eBay is your best bet. Someone also might be selling one on the Marketplace here. Good luck on the search, I've got one myself and it is such a great iPod.

The first gen nano is just gonna be so expensive anywhere you look I too like it but the 2nd gen nano is close enough for me not to mention at 1/4 the cost.

why is that? Was there more 2nd Gen nanos produced than 1st gen? I actually just picked up a 2nd Gen Nano yesterday and I love it! Paid $30 for it and its in great condition.

1st gen nanos have recently cost so much because people have bought them and sent them in to Apple for the replacement program in which Apple gives the customer a new 6th gen nano.

save a search for iPod nano 1st generation-newly listed. I have picked up some cheap that way. some put them up "buy it now" not knowing about the replacement program issue which has driven up the cost

Think I got lucky with mine. Managed to buy one of eBay that looks unused.. No scratches or marks in mint condition and with original box and paid £20 for it last year

I still have mine. I don't know if it works but I like having it in my small Apple museum.

I found one a few months ago, still brand new sealed in the box for $100 on my local classifieds. They purchased it from a local store close to me, however I ended up selling it due to buying a more extraordinary product.

My best bet of advice for be to check your local classifieds or perhaps stores around you (you never know right?). As others recommended, you could try eBay. However I'd result to eBay if you absolutely needed the 1st gen, as you'd pay an arm and a leg.

Other than the trade in program, what is the appeal? My white Gen 1 was prone to scratching on the front and back, but otherwise was OK. It was the later ability to play video (my fave is the 4th gen) that exploded my usage of the Nano.

Why don't you favor the 5th gen iPod nano over the fourth-the fifth had the bigger screen, bolder colors, and the video camera(although I think a still photo camera would have been better)?

I didn't know about the screen being better, I loved my (Red), and the video just seemed to gimmicky at the time. No compelling reason to upgrade.

I'm not trying to diss the Gen 1, it was awesome for what it was, the first tiny iPod (discounting the mini). I just don't see why anyone would want one now, and I'm trying to understand. On the other hand, I totally understand someone picking up a gen 4 (or 5) to replace a failing battery or what not. They were and are awesome!

Don't know if this question is legit or not, I'll answer it anyways... It's pretty easy to buy an iPod. They're sold at most department stores, at many websites online, etc. I'd recommend buying straight from Apple on their website or in an Apple store.
