iPod ipod nano 2G menu button not working...

Well recently my ipod nano got slightly wet while it was raining. Maybe that was the reason maybe not, but the next day when it turned back on and was no longer unresponsive the menu button stopped working. However I can still reset it. I have tried to restore it as well. On there are these click wheel flex cables. There about $10, are they worth a try to replace the old click wheel or is the menu button a different story.
