So my 2nd gen just died out of nowhere....I am thinking of getting an itouch, can i trade the old one in to get some credits? as in discount? thanks. I am thinking of buying it at best buy. Don't know if there is some trade in program.

A free iPod recycling program, conducted through Apple’s retail stores, offers environmentally friendly disposal and a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new iPod.

Also, other stores may have a similar offer.

Best Buy

For the Best Buy offer, the existing merchandise has to be in working condition still. The best bet is to go to an Apple Store to get a 10% discount. Or if you have time, sell it on eBay as broken. You can still get a lot of money, maybe at least $20, but it depends on the model.

thnx for the replies, guess i will just have to find an apple store...don't think there is one in my town :(
