iPod iPod Nano 3G Error 1411

My brother has an iPod Nano 3G. He's been trying to restore it recently, and unfortunately he cannot. Every time he tries, the software loads, and then the error pops up. When he clicks "More information" the site at Apple is down.

I'm wondering how to fix this problem? It is the only iPod connected to his computer, and his computer is fully updated.
