can you check which version is currently installed?

I just connected to itunes and software update popup

It's formatted to Windows but I now use it on my MBP, does that make any difference?

Yea, IIRC, you can only update your iPod (on a Mac) if it's formatted to Macintosh.

Thanks for the help. Have reformatted my nano to mac and got the update. Lost all my tunes tho
