So got a great deal on an iPod nano (4G) today. Was sold AS-IS just didn't turn on so brought it home and it powered up on launch I thought hmm maybe just a drained battery, it seemed to work when unplugged. Through further testing it randomly turns off and wont turn on again unless you put the cord in and pull it out as soon as you see an apple symbol. Also if you leave it in to sync it turns off as soon as you unplug it. The battery defiantly holds a charge, and shows full battery when it just turns off so it can't be just drained? It's hard to tell on the indicator strip if it has water damage, but I called Apple anyway and its still under warranty and hasn't been registered so I went ahead and put it in my name, they are sending a box to repair/replace it. With my iPod touch they not only replaced it but gave me the 2G when it was broken... Might I get a nice new 5th generation?
Also if the iPod does have water damage could I be charged for sending it in to Apple?
BTW: Got the iPod for $20... Didn't seem like the shady thief type either.
