I have a 4th Gen iPod Nano that, occasionally when I plug it into the Mac Pro tower at my work, the iPod actually freezes up the entire computer and the only way to fix the issue is to unplug the iPod (w/o ejecting it properly) or hard reset the computer. Of course, this results in the iPod having to be reformatted, which is getting to be seriously annoying because it happens every few times I plug it into the computer. The nano has all the software updates, but I don't think the Mac Pro does.

Does anyone know what would be causing this? To me, it sounds like bad flash memory in the iPod.

Any other thoughts?
