Hey.
I have an ipod nano 5th generation, and an imac g3/500 with os 10.3.9 with all the latest updates. when i plug it in i get a windows that says it contains no volumes that mac os x can read, with the option to initialize, ignore, or eject.
Is there anyway i can connect it for disc mode? i dont want to sync music or anything, i just want to get the videos from the camera off it.
and yes i know how to put it into disc mode.

The 10.4.11 OS is a minimum requirement for compatibility with an iPod nano 5th gen. I would not expect disk mode to work with a system which does not meet the system requirements.

Well thats stupid.

Thats stupid. It should be able to connect like a memory stick, not as an ipod.
I hate when theres a "minimum os" compatibility with devices that can be used for storage.

iPods have always operated differently from other MP3 players in this respect. It allows tighter integration with the iTunes library, and a quicker ready-to-play time from a reboot.

Looks like you'll have to find a computer with a more recent OS.
