Are there any reviews from anyone who has had the nano for a long time? I'm asking this because first impressions can be different from how its like after long0term usage. Like... has the user functionality really been reduced or improved? Such like that.

My orange 16gb nano was ordered yesterday, but I'd just like to see what your opinions are on the 6th gen nano.

(And please don't give "reviews" if you've only played with it for 5 minutes at the apple store or haven't owned it.)

well I dont think anyone could have owned it "long term" yet seeing as it come out not that long ago.

Yeah, but a month or two is long enough to get the feel of a device and is much better than just a week.

P.S. I'd love to see something like this too.

Well, my iPod nano 6G died after 7 weeks. The sleep/wake button got "stuck". It's happened to a lot of people. Search ilounge, Apple's support forums, and youtube for videos. It's a widespread problem. But just like the iPod nano 3G's tilted screen, Apple is doing anything about it or even acknowledging it.

Hi,
I got my 8GB nano the week they came out. I use it about every other day for walking/ going to the gym. I haven't had any problems with it at all with build quality, playback etc (I am the type to really look after my stuff).

The only thing I would say is not having a hardware button for play/pause/forward etc is annoying, especially since the headphones supplied don't come with a remote (I use my iphone ones to get round this). I have fed this back to apple on their feedback page... for whatever that is worth.

iPod nano 6th generation is simply the best ipod nano yet for people who is looking for ipod that is light weight and use it at the gym for exercise.

If you expecting more, then prepare to be disappointed.

I've used it since a week after they came out in the gym, running, walking, casual use, etc.... And I must tell you it's reaaaally nice. Lightweight as a feather, and luckily I haven't had the Sleep/Wake problem mentioned earlier.

The good thing with mine is that because I don't even watch video on my iPhone, l don't need the video function at all, music is all I do. And let's be honest here: even the 5G nano's video playback was crappy. I mean: THAT SCREEN IS JUST TOO LITTLE.

Video Camera: I've never even used a Sony Camcorder in my life, less my iPhone's video recorder. Nuff' said.

Games: Only Angry Birds on my iPhone. 2x nuff' said.

Hope it helps. :)

I originally didn’t like the new Nanos as I still had my 3rd gen. But I do like that it has a clip and the more I use it the more I like it. I got the 16gb so there’s plenty of space (for me, anyway). Like anything though, it’s all subjective. I do think they should have kept the screen the same size as the previous generation, but that might be something that’s “fixed” next generation.

After having the nano for a while, what would you all say about the battery life? As in real time hours, like 10 hours before dying? or is it dead is 8?

I can get a good day's use out of it if used consistently. The battery isn't all that impressive, considering it's in such a small enclosure. I charge mine bi-nightly. Not sure about the hours estimate.

I'm very happy with my nano. I can't comment on the battery life because it's in a speaker dock most of the time either in my bedroom or at work. The only complaint I have is that it's so small that the bottom of the screen is obscured while docked. It's hard to reach the scrubber bar because you have to twist your hand around so your finger is pointed down and get between the side of the dock and the nano. It's hard to describe, but trust me it's awkward.

I saw something the other day where someone had made a watch out the 6 gen nano. Looked interesting.

Is the iPod Nano 6G Apple's least reliable product?

Do apple (or any company) have a product that is less reliable than the IPod nano 6 G?

If so, what are they?

I got my 6th replacement nano 6G (7th nano 6G since February) at the beginning of July. It's now packed in - won't switch on, won't connect to computer. Some lasted under 3 days and given it took 2 of those days to sync to iTunes I only got a few hours use. Going on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks so can't use the postal replacement service this time, but will need to do it when I get back. Wish Apple will do what I asked last time and just give me a refund so I could buy a product that works for longer than an average of 3 weeks.

The forums have several other customers with similar tales of woe.

What's going on?

I bought a new Ipod Nano the week it was released. And I've been using it ever since. My general review about it is really good. I've also used the classic Ipod and the touch as well. And I think the quality of almost everything single thing is improved in nano. However, there are some features that Ipod touch supports and the nano does not.

Wow I knew some people had some bugs but this is pretty extreme. My nano has been working pretty well since i got it on Christmas. One thing I've noticed though is that after the 1.1 firmware update, there has been more bugs.
