iPod iPod Nano 7th Gen - 2x Podcast Speed Slow?

I got one of the last iPod Nano 7th Gens at my local computer store (Microcenter) today. When I exercise, I like to listen to podcasts at 2x speed. However, the Nano seems to play at a much slower 2x speed than my iPhone 6s+--closer to 1.25x

Any way to speed it up? 3rd party software/firmware and/or editor? I am afraid I will need to return it...
