Hi all, I have something that's really bugging me so any way to help me would be much appreciated.

I have the iPod nano 7th generation and use it all the time because of its small size and ability to hold a lot of music. The big problem though is that I love playlists - new playlists to be exact - and I'm picky about them (I don't like genius mixes too often, etc.). I like to make new playlists almost every day for specific things, like a drive or a jog or a shower, etc.

Okay, well, that's possible on the nano 7th gen, yes. The problem is, I have a large music library and I often like to add songs in that I've rated highly but might not remember well. You see, with the 7th gen nano, so far I've only been able to choose a new playlist from a certain type, such as "Albums" or "Songs" or "Artists" (playlists are NOT an option) and when I go to any of those to choose the playlist, they only say song names so I can't see what I've rated anything. It would be so simple if the nano just had a "Playlists" option when I go to add new songs to a playlist...it seems like it has every music menu option BUT playlists lol. For songs I remember well all this is fine, but for me there's so much music in between. Half the time I look at song titles alone on an album and don't remember the exact song and have no idea if it's one I rated 2 or 3 or 4 stars, so have nothing to go on for if I might want to add it to a playlist.

Now, that wouldn't be a problem IF I could add to playlists like my older now-gone iPod nanos let me - instead of having to be on the specific playlist screen to add to the playlist, it let you just be in the regular non-playlist music screens and then press down on a song and hold for a sec then it's automatically added to the newest playlist. In that way, I could look at song info while adding, and also I could make a playlist of songs I might want to consider for playlists that week, then go into that playlist and add songs to a new playlist from it. I can't figure out how to do anything like that on the nano 7th gen.

So, in a nutshell, I want to know:

1 - if there's any way to add songs to a playlist while NOT in the playlist edit/add screen like was possible on older nanos

OR

2 - on the playlist add/edit screen, if there's any way to choose other playlists to look through to add from

OR

3 - on the playlist add/edit screen, if there's any way to see song info like rating while adding.

I don't need all three - Any one of those three being possible would be a good solution for me.

The only way I can halfway do something like that now is very cumbersome - I need to not be in the playlist screen, then look up songs I might want to add while looking at ratings and such, then remember what they are, go into the playlist edit screen and go find them all over again that way then add them. I could only remember a few songs max at a time that way, so it'd be a rinse and repeat process over and over again to do that. It's so burdensome I just don't do it, so basically I'm left with choosing playlists by songs I know well, which means my playlists are much more restricted and similar day-to-day than they used to be.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated! :D
