Hey guys, just got a new nano and put music on it. When I hold the middle button down to activate genius, the genius option doesn't come up. Anyone have any ideas?

cheers

Have you activated genius on iTunes yet? If you have, look through all the options on your iPod to see if Genius is disabled somehow. Otherwise, maybe you should just restore the iPod.

If you have Genius turned on in iTunes then try syncing the Nano a few more times repeatedly disconnecting after each sync! An easier but time consuming option is to restore it but this doesnt always guarantee a working genius.....

i know the songs in itunes wont work with genius unless you bought them from there ... is it the same thing for when they are on the nano? because none of my songs is from itunes :S

They don't have to be from iTunes, as long as they are on iTunes, and are tagged correctly, they should work.

You need Genius enabled on iTunes, then disconnect your nano. Plug it back in and sync, then just for kicks hit the Sync button again.

That should do it.

ok it worked on itunes ... ALTHOUGH NOTHING IS FROM THE ITUNES STORE... i thought that wasnt possible ... how ever its still no showing up on my ipod

ok it worked after pressing sync like 20 times ... how ever its not showing up with all the songs... =D
