I would get the new nano, it has 16gb of space (which goes a long ways compared to 16gb on an iPad because u don't have apps on a iPod nano)
I have the newest nano and I got it for the same reason as you.

If u have any questions about it you can just reply and I can answer them!!

You can get an Apple certified refurbished iPod nano 7th generation (newest iPod nano) on Apple's website for $99 which includes the iPod nano 7 (of any color but Product [RED] ) with a new battery and casing, new Apple EarPods, and a new Apple Lightning connector.

Yes. thank you! exactly what im going to do for my birthday this coming july! haha :)

I would wait until September and see if Apple bothers updating the old one.

I would wait till September, or maybe sooner, if this Beats Rumour plays out, maybe Apple will be bothered to refresh the range ;)

Followup question. I want an iPod I can take on the road, one that has radio capability. And I want it soon, like now. Should I get the iPod nano?

Tim Cook doesn't care much for the iPod range so I doubt we'll get a refresh this year. A Beats-inspired 8th gen may come out next year at a guess. With luck they don't kill the entire line!

I think with the introduction of the iWatch though the Shuffle will likely get the chop, as might the Nano if all these exercise-related apps start to take over.

What type of Nano are you looking for?
How much music I you have?
16GB on a nano may not be enough in which case a Classic is better for music.
Really doubt apple will revamp their line up this year :(

I have the ipod video 5.5 and the Ipod nano 7g and love them both but the Nano has slightly better sound quality

I would bet that Apple will update the Nano this fall. But Apple stuff has such great resell value that you could always buy the 7th gen now and sell it later this year for a great price. That way you can enjoy your tunes all summer and not wait.

I'm hoping the next Nano get's some sort of wifi sync ability to download podcasts. Or getting the Apple Podcast app would be great. I'd finally be able to stop using my iPhone to listen to stuff while I run. And if the iPhone get's larger, this will be even more important. Because I don't know if I want a larger iPhone on my arm while I run.

I dont think you will see wifi on a Nano.It beats the whole idea of a simple, dedicated music player with button audio control. You can go outside where the screen is just about invisible in the sun and hit a side button and your music will play randomly all day.Ever try to get work through an ipod Touch menu outside in sunlight?
