I have an 80GB Classic.

Ive been in Iraq for 7 months during which time my ipod had no problem plugging into my laptop, instantly syncing, and being ready for use/ejection.

The minute I got home and logged onto the internet, Itunes updated to 8.0.2 on both my laptop and my IMac back home. Since then my Ipod will freeze mid-sync process.

Its always a random song that it freezes on. Out of 5000+ songs, one time it made it all the way into the upper 4000s before it froze. Sometimes it freezes on song 12.

It also wont allow me to drag and drop my music in when disabling auto-sync. The same problem occurs whereby it freezes on some random song.

WTF?

when I click on the photo tab to add photo's to my iphone itunes just quits now every thing else seems to be working fine for me though I even tried removing itunes and reinstalling it and still quits.

ok obviously that first reply was posted in the wrong thread but...

update: i completely uninstalled itunes and reinstalled an older version of itunes (7.7) and im running into the same problem. so perhaps it isnt the version of itunes but...

searching "ipod sync trouble" reveals dozens of pages of people posting the same problem im having on the internet, and most of these people claim to have the 80gb Classic as i do, and some of them claim their ipod is brand new.

WTF?

No fix?

So i take it you haven't got a fix to your problem?

I have a nano and i have the same "mid-sync freezing problem". Some random song will freeze it. I'll delete the song and then some other random song will freeze the syncing.

I'm using 8.2 and an square nano.

ANY SOLUTIONS OUT THERE???
