Hi,

My iPod photo won't boot. I've tried plugging it into both my MBP and it's adapter using the stock cable and it refuses to charge & displays nothing until I reset it, at which point it will display the battery with lightning bolt at one end for about a minute and then just switch off.
I gather that even if your battery is dead, the iPod should still boot when plugged into a power-source.. is this more serious? would i need to replace the logic board & the battery to get it back alive? I really need my music/photos off it as i have no backup but would quite like to get it functioning as an iPod again as well.

All ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks

Just thought i'd mention.. only displays battery/lightning bolt when plugged into MBP. When plugged into adapter and reset, simply displays greyed-out apple symbol upon reset, followed by the unhappy iPod. :( Can't get it into diagnostic mode.
