hi y'all,

i have had my 3rd gen 15GB for about a year now, and i have completely filled it up (with songs and HD data). i am now considering the move to a higher model, the ipod photo 30GB. i shall be getting a camera connector and agent 18 ipod case with it, all comint to about £300. since i am going to hong kong in several weeks, i think it is a worthwhile investment, becuase i can empty my sony camera onto the ipod when the memorystick is filled.
i have also had a recent mini-windfall, and so i cna now afford the 30GB with these accessories guilt-free, so to speak....

with WWDC tomorrow, im thinking of holding out just to see what they have....either way, i will be ordering tomorrow.

just some opinions from you guys really......

are you pleased with your 30GB's?

how many of you have upgraded form 3G or earlier?

are the accessories ive chosen pretty solid choices?

would you say it is wize to purchase now? (just so you know, i got the 3G about 4 weeks before they updated to click wheel and i was kicking myself.....im that kinda guy....

thanks for any input

Wait until tomorrow, if they don't update the iPod then, then I would go ahead and order the iPod Photo.

Man, wait until you get to Hong Kong - the HK dollar is linked to the US dollar, which is really weak at the mo. You'll save yourself more than a few quid...!

it would be a good idea, but im not going to have much time to look for one :( i am staying with my family who live in the new territories. the only place i saw them last time i went was in ocean terminal in tsim sha tsui and they cost about £5 less......besides, i want it sooner rather than later as some of my itunes songs are on the waiting list for spaces on my ipod!

thanks anyway, its a very good idea.

Fair point. I bought mine from somewhere in TST, and at the time I saved about £50, but I take your point if you're not gonna be in the centre much.

i have the 40 and i only have about 11gb used on it.

ohh well it was an xmas present. im planning to store a lot more than music on it in the future.

Hey
I was just in china during the past year, and apple is making a boatload of profit in Hong Kong, the price is not the same, in fact it is MORE expensive than in the US or UK. And it is linked at 7.2 HKD to a Dollar, but the dollar is actually getting stronger right now.

i am pleased with the ipod photo 30gb but the transfer of pictures from the camera using the camera connector is quite slow, if you want to download a 1gb memory stick that's going to take too long and it's really not usable. if you only want to do 128 mb or so then it would be ok.

Could you perhaps give some numbers about this? Like what's the transfer rate/how long does it take to copy 128/256?
cheers
