Hi.

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the iPod photo 60G that shipped with all the accessories and the iPod photo 60G that is currently available without the dock and av cable ect .... Or is the ipod itself identical just without the extras, to lower the price? Finally would anyone be able to tell me what accessories came in the original 60 gig ipod photo box?

thanks very much,

breno

I'm almost certain the two 60GB iPods are identical apart from the different accessories that they come with. The little white box (iPod) should be exactly the same though.

The iPod itself is exactly the same.

Do yourself a favor... buy the NEW package, which just comes with the iPod, the AC charger, and the USB cable (plus software, headphones, and manual). THEN, buy only the accessories you actually need. The old package comes with a lot of stuff (dock, Firewire cable, etc.) which you may not actually need, but you still end up paying for it.

Actually there is a difference, if you plan on using a RF based remote with the iPod photo you have to get a new one. The old ones put out a weird freq. thats messes with the RF freq. here is a link that tells more about it.iPod photo interference

Yeah that's all - no remote. Does anyone ever use one?

I use the remote to extend the overall length of the audio cord ... don't actually use the buttons on it.

I got my 40GB iPod Photo after the 30GB and 60GB were out. I was going to buy a 30GB, but then I saw that the 40GB with all the other accesories was just $30 more... Given that just the price of just one of the accesories is around $20, and I wanted at least the FW cable and the dock, I decided to go for the 40GB. I've actually used the dock and the AV cable quite a bit, to hook up the iPod to my stereo and TV (not much for showing photos).

I also got 10 additional GBs :D

What's the deal with that grey bag? You can't really polish the iPod with it... and it already comes with a case... It's made out that material they use for airline pillows... all scruffy and weird. Does anyone every use it?

And yes, I just used my remote on a bike ride... comes in handy when you don't want to reach into your jersey pocket and pull it out to change songs.

I bought a new iPod Photo and stripped all the accessories from my earlier iPod, such as the remote and FireWire lead.

I bought some iPod Socks and the Photo Dock to. That's it.
