I just noticed the current iPods only come with UBS cable. Didn't the MAC version iPod come with a Firewire cable? Now it's a separate accessory.

there is no longer a Mac version of the iPod and they all used to come with firewire cables yes, but considering that many many more people have access to USB 2.0 than Firewire, apple switched, plus they now allow charging over USB so unless you are stuck with 1.1 it doesnt make that big of a difference

But isn't it faster to copy over 20 Gig of data with firewire than USB 2.0?

Yes it's faster to copy over firewire, but most PC users don't even have a firewire port on their computer, and since Apple sells more iPods to PC users they decided it would work better to give everybody a USB cable that PC and Mac users could use instead of a firewire cable that only Mac users and a select few PC users had access to.
