Recently all the music on my ipod became unreadable. It was physically still there but in the "other" category. I found a solution to this problem only to run into another.

My ipod now shows up on itunes, but doesn't show up on Finder.

I can't retrieve the 10,000 songs from my ipod until this problem is fixed and since the only copy of those songs I have is on the ipod I would rather not restore or reset it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It shows up in iTunes?? Is the music still there on your iPod when you plug it in and start up iTunes? If so, a 3rd party software such as iRip ( http://thelittleappfactory.com/irip/ ) can be used to rip the music from your iPod to your iTunes. Or you can use Macsome iPod Ripper ( http://www.macsome.com/ipod-file-transfer-mac/index.html ) to have the option to rip to either iTunes OR anywhere on your computer.

Enjoy!:apple:

EDIT: When you say the music is "unreadable," you are including in iTunes as well? If so, I'm not sure if these applications will work, but you could always try! Good luck!

Ipod showing up on itunes but not Finder

People the problem goes deeper than just managing iTunes issues. I recently purchased an iPod for home use. Roommate and I were able to finally work out the music problem, but then I moved on to taking pictures with the iPod for another project and from what we can tell until the iPod is seen on the desktop the pictures are stuck inside the iPod ... Now does anyone have a solution to to the absent iPod Image on the Macintosh desktop; or are my pictures forever locked in side a iPod?
