iPod ipod shuffle 2g erase and sync help

ok to make a long story short i have an ipod shuffle 2g and a while back my computers hard drive died on me, so now any devise now sees my new itunes library as a foreign one. i usually don't sync it but i want to put new songs on it without having to put every single song back on it, due to the erase and sync. is there any way to back it up like i would with my iphone, somehow make the song on it a playlist, i just don't want to go through my library and have to hand pick the songs out on to the ipod. thanks
